The exhibition includes the film Method, 2026, 21 min 28 sec,
commissioned by Urbane Künste Ruhe and animated by Esteban Rivera.
The exhibition is about reform, and deformation. It’s about energy consumption and transformation; about burnout and burning through; about truth, and justice, and commerce, and health and sanity, and facts, and the meaning of life. It’s about how it’s warming up out there, how to get warmed up, how to stretch, and stretch deadlines, and resources. The work is about how even if there is pain there are still no gains. It’s about engaging the core, and engaging core values, while bent over, or bent down to the ground, or laying on the ground. It’s about trying to hold a position, or take a stance, to build resistance, and to resist sponsorship. It’s about how all growth starts with water, so it’s about staying thirsty, and getting shredded, like nature is shredded, look at that insane definition, absolutely ripped apart. It’s about resting in progress, like: chin up, look ahead, one foot in front of the other, don’t let obstacles get in the way, cleansed by fire, through the forest fire, fire is just weakness leaving the forest. It’s about how it’s fine, because it’s in the fine print, and it’s just fine particles in the blood. The work is in progress, just like everything must progress, and everything must go once, or twice until it goes under, and then it’s gone. It’s about humor, and how laughing burns calories, and it’s about sad stuff, and how crying burns kilos. It’s about the big plot twists, like how the ecosystem’s in the guts. The project is about scripted good intentions, and documented convincing expressions, and how to care, and how to carry more weight. It’s an exhibition about rehearsal, and choices and denial and practising poses in front of mirrors.
